I'm a chronological blogger. I can't write about what happen today until I write about what happened three weeks ago. I try...but I can't. It must be in order!! The problem is, when I get the time and motivation to sit down and write, I've forgotten. So...I asked myself this week, "Why do I blog?" I love my blog. If it can be counted as one of my possessions, it would be close to the top of the list. I love to read my blog. Not that I'm great at writing and find myself entertaining, but it's my story. My family's story. I love to look back, see the pictures, read the funny things the kids said.
Years ago, I started my first blog the day after Carson's leukemia diagnosis. I didn't know what a blog was then, I just wanted a way to keep everyone updated on him so they would know how and what to pray for him. I had that blog made into a book. I can't look at it. But I have it.
So, since my scrapbooking skills are lacking, this blog is all I have. It has become my scrapbook, journal, picture album.... Our tangible piece of the past.
And speaking of blogs, I love other people's blogs too. I love your blog! I think I will share a little blog love this week. If you post this week, and if I read your blog, I will comment on it. If I don't know you exist, then come out of the shadows and leave me a comment.

Birthday Boy - Corban
Corban is 4. I have never seen a kid so excited to have a birthday. He talked about his birthday for months before it got here. He wanted a birthday party and to go to Chuck E. Cheese. Who doesn't want to go to Chuck E Cheese for their birthday?? Since we didn't want to be at the Cheese on a Saturday, we headed to Ft. Worth on Friday. (We also went to Cooper's BBQ. They just opened a restaurant in Ft. Worth. The original is in Llano, close to San Saba, where we used to live. Get the beef rib.) On Saturday we had a big family party for Corban and Carson together. Here is Corb with his first bike!
I cheated on the boys cake this year. The cake is always my thing. I love creating them for the boys each year, based on what they like. The Tom and Jerry pic is an edible icing thing I found on eBay. It was easy, which is exactly what I was going for. Here, here, here, and here are some fun cakes from past birthdays.

Birthday Boy - Carson
Carson is 8! I can't believe it either. We started a tradition while living in Cali. On everyone's birthday, they get to have their day their way. That was a little easier to pull off in San Diego since there is so much to do there. But Carson had an awesome day. It began with blueberry muffins and opening presents. Then Daddy cooked steaks for lunch, which is Carson's all time favorite.
Next we headed to the Jumping Party with a lot of friends. Here are some of the boys just before we left.

After getting home, Daddy and the other two boys left to pick up something at Nana and Papa's, while Carson and I hung out at home and played with his new toys. Then we had dinner and cake and ice cream. Carson's cake was a Poke'ball.

From Carson: When I was seven, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and I got baptized. We came back from San Diego the year I was seven. Now we live in Texas in the country. I really like it. We have a two story house like we did in San Diego. Now I am playing baseball and my first game is tonight. I am having another one tomorrow.
