Invasion

To the ants it may concern:
It is time to make an official declaration - the War is on. You have attempted to invade every room in my home. At first, I felt sorry for you and your armies. You wanted moisture. You only came in seeking water. It was still annoying, but I understood your attacks. But last night you went too far. You infiltrated my pantry and tried to commandeer my Chips Ahoy cookies. That was not a smart move. A swift moving battle ensued, much like all the others. I first wiped out your forces with my kill-on-contact-but-leave-no-harmful-residue-that-hurts-humans natural spray. Then, upon finding your point of entry, I pulled out the big guns. I poisoned that secret location so that you may never again use it to enter my home. You are a creative bunch. You have ventured into my home through doors and windows, electrical outlets, air conditioner vents, cracks in the floor, from the backs of cabinets and the spaces around pipes. I am certain you are living in my walls, but I tell you now...THIS IS MY HOME - YOU ARE NOT WELCOME. Consider this your final warning.

Birthday Boy - Caden

Today my baby boy reached double digits. Caden is officially 10! Our family has a tradition of letting the birthday boy plan his day his way, so today was Caden's day. It started off with Caden being trapped in his bed when he woke up. This doesn't sound like a good start to a birthday to me, but for a 10 year old boy, this was the ultimate. Joey took a piece of cardboard and a rope and wrapped up his bed. (disclaimer: 1. the end of the bed wasn't blocked off so he could easily escape 2. this was how he wanted his day to start)
Next came the chocolate chip muffins and root beer for breakfast.Next on his list was a present hunt. We hid his presents all over the house and he had to find them all....all except for one that we were supposed to hide super hard and give him a map to find it later. So Caden found his presents, unwrapped them, and played for a while. Then we left for lunch at A&W.
Next came Boomers for games, rock climbing and bumper boats
Then home for some cake and ice cream. Caden wanted a root beer cake. This cake actually has root beer in the cake and in the icing! If you haven't noticed, root beer was the theme this year. He said he wanted to have a root beer in his hand all day.A final pic with Dad.
Happy Birthday Caden. We love you so much.

Mission Team

Last week we had a mission team here from Kentucky. They were amazing! Such an awesome group. They spent their entire week helping us to spread the word about Stonelake and sharing Jesus with everyone they met. In the mornings they would put mailers on doors, and in the evenings they would knock on doors and tell people how they could have hope in Jesus. They put out over 7,000 mailers and led 5 people to Christ during their time here!! On Saturday, they helped us host an apartment party. We had over 300 people that came out for it. Good times! And then on Sunday, we had around 30 new people at church, which were a direct result of the team's work.

Caden buddied up with the team all week; he even wore one of their matching shirts everyday. Here he is with his new friend Daniel.
A huge THANK YOU shout out goes to First Baptist Church of Pikeville Kentucky. You guys are awesome. You were a huge encouragement to us this past week. You have made an eternal impact on the lives of people in this area. Thank you for loving on our family and loving on Lakeside.
